About Mike Stinnett

Mike Stinnett is a seasoned saxophonist celebrated for his warm, expressive tone and dynamic live performances. Based in the Pacific Northwest, he delivers a sophisticated blend of jazz, R&B, and contemporary music that elevates any event.

With over 55 years of experience on the saxophone, Mike has performed across the United States, Canada, and Europe in a wide range of genres. Career highlights include sharing the stage with The Temptations, Grammy Award winner Bubba Hernandez, and recording with Sub Pop artist Mark Lanegan.

For nearly four decades, Mike called Austin, Texas home, where he became a fixture in the vibrant Texas music scene. He performed extensively throughout the “Texas Triangle” (Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and beyond) alongside legends such as the Cornell Hurd Band, Bad Livers founder Mark Rubin, Texas songwriter George Carver, and the inimitable Little Jack Melody.

A graduate of the University of North Texas with a Master of Music degree, Mike is also a dedicated educator who offers private woodwind instruction to students of all ages.
